A&E Television Networks Partners with Collette Vacations and Wayfare Interactive, formerly GeoPassage Corporation to offer Pre-Planned and Customized Travel

NEW YORK, NY - March 25, 2002

From the 18th-Century America depicted in The History Channel‚ program Founding Brothers to the jungle of prehistoric dinosaurs being created for the A&E original movie "The Lost World", A&E Television Networks (AETN) will now use its award-winning programming as a basis for a new travel partnership with Collette Vacations and Wayfare Interactive. The partnership will develop an easy-to-use, multimedia internet site offering a unique and innovative customized travel capability, as well as pre-planned travel packages. The travel offerings will be merchandised around the programming content of the AETN brands: A&E®, The History Channel®, Biography®, and Geneaology.com; it was announced today by Carrie Trimmer, Director of Licensing, AETN Consumer Products Division.

A&E Travel, The Official Travel Site of A&E Television Networks, accessed via a travel tab on the navigation bar of all AETN site home pages, will allow users to develop, plan and book general interest pre-planned tours, special interest pre-planned tours, or fully customizable tours. Collette Vacations will supply a wide range of general interest travel packages to more than 200 destinations worldwide, while Wayfare will provide the customization capability and special interest tours to locations worldwide.

"Together with Collette's expertise in delivering high quality, high value pre-planned vacations and Wayfare's unique, customized travel capabilities, we will be able to offer viewers better choices to satisfy their traveling needs and also extend the television viewing experience" said Carrie Trimmer.

On the Travel home page, the "How do you like to travel?" prompt will guide users to locate and develop a wide range of tours to meet their needs:
  • Pre-planned tours offer individuals the choice to search the globe for a general interest packaged tour to the country of their choice, or a special interest themed tour categorized by areas of interest specific to AETN viewers, such as mysteries, military, history, the arts, etc.
  • Custom tours allow individuals to create their very own vacation experience by developing a personal profile which automatically generates a unique vacation, created specially for them based on their needs.
"We are thrilled to have been chosen as the A&E Television Networks travel partner," said Dan Sullivan, Jr., Collette President and CEO. "Providing unique and quality vacation experiences has long been our top priority and to be able to offer those experiences in conjunction with the quality programming A&E offers, is exciting."

"We are delighted to be partnering with A&E Television Networks to bring such a comprehensive and compelling travel offering to travelers worldwide," said Naren Nath, Chairman and CEO of Wayfare. "With its rich array of award winning programs, AETN is a great fit for Wayfare's powerful theme-based travel merchandising capabilities."

The tours and site will be promoted on-air via the networks, both in special promotional spots and during the broadcasts of the shows that feature a particular tour based on the programming. The spots will invite viewers to plan and book their travel needs via the A&E Travel website.
